Cetrimide 0.5% + Chlorhexidine Hydrochloride 0.1% is an antiseptic combination used for insect bites, sunburn, disinfection, cuts, scratches, blisters, grazes, nappy rash, cracked and itchy skin, and cleansing dirty wounds.

Pharmacology
Cetrimide is a quaternary ammonium antiseptic; it has bactericidal activity against both gram-positive and gram-negative organisms. Chlorhexidine is an antimicrobial agent; it is active against a wide range of gram-negative and gram-positive vegetative bacteria, yeasts, dermatophyte fungi and lipophilic viruses.
Dosage
Adult and Children: Apply 2-3 times daily or as directed.

Use in pregnancy
Pregnancy Category C. Animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks.
Pregnancy Category: C — always consult a doctor before taking during pregnancy.
Precautions & warnings
- For external use only.
- Prolonged and repeated use may increase risk of hypersensitivity reactions.
- Blood, soap, cotton or other organic matter may decrease antibacterial efficacy.
- Not to be used in the eye, ear, mucous membrane or body cavities.
