Indications
Prevention and therapy of damages due to faulty or deficient protein metabolism in chronic renal insufficiency with low protein diet.
Dosage
Adults: 4 to 8 tablets three times a day during meals. Swallow whole without chewing. Used when GFR is between 5 and 15 mL/min.
Side effects
Hypercalcemia may develop. Regular monitoring of serum calcium and phosphate levels required.
Precautions & warnings
Monitor serum calcium and phosphate levels regularly, ensure adequate calorie intake, watch for phenylketonuria.
