Lornoxicam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used for short-term relief of acute mild to moderate pain and symptomatic relief of pain and inflammation in osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
Indications
- Short-term relief of acute mild to moderate pain
- Symptomatic relief of pain and inflammation in osteoarthritis
- Symptomatic relief of pain and inflammation in rheumatoid arthritis
Dosage
Acute Pain: 8-16 mg/day in 2-3 divided doses; max 16 mg/day
Osteoarthritis & Rheumatoid Arthritis: Initial 12 mg/day in 2-3 divided doses; maintenance max 16 mg/day
Renal/Hepatic Impairment (Mild-Moderate): Max 12 mg/day in 2-3 divided doses

- Peptic ulcer
- GI bleeding (rare, especially in elderly)
Precautions & warnings
- Caution in patients with history of peptic ulcer or GI bleeding
- Caution in patients with impaired kidney function, history of hypertension or heart failure
- Caution in ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease
- Caution in patients with history of bleeding tendency or asthma
- Caution in patients with SLE (Systemic Lupus Erythematosus)
