Lymecycline is an antibiotic used for the treatment of bacterial infections. It is effective for lung, urinary tract, eye, skin infections, acne, and sexually transmitted diseases.
Indications
- Acne
- Ear, nose, and throat infections
- Acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis
- Gastrointestinal infections
- Urinary tract infections
- Non-gonococcal urethritis
- Trachoma
- Rickettsial fever
- Soft tissue infections
Dosage
Adult Dose (Oral):
- Acne (chronic): 1 capsule daily, for at least 8 weeks
- Other infections: 1 capsule twice daily
- Higher doses: 3-4 capsules over 24 hours
Children (12 years+): Adult dose

- Vomiting
- Nausea
- Diarrhea
- Photosensitivity
Precautions & warnings
- Caution when driving or doing activities requiring concentration (may cause dizziness or drowsiness)
- Discontinue and inform doctor if rash, itching, facial swelling, or breathing difficulty occurs
- Inform doctor if diarrhea persists or blood in stools
- Consult doctor during pregnancy and lactation
