Tolperisone Hydrochloride is a muscle relaxer used to relieve discomfort associated with acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions such as rigidity, tension, stiffness, and muscle spasms.

Pharmacology
Tolperisone is a centrally acting muscle relaxant. It works on the centres in the brain and spinal cord to relieve muscle stiffness or spasm without reduction in strength.
Dosage
Adult Dose:
- Oral: 50-150 mg three times daily
- Intramuscular: One ampoule twice daily; inject slowly
Child Dose (Oral):
- <6 years: 5 mg/kg daily in 3 divided doses
- 6-14 years: 2-4 mg/kg daily in 3 divided doses
Side effects
Common Side Effects:
- Sleepiness
- Weakness
- Dizziness
- Vomiting
- Nausea
Use in pregnancy
Use in Pregnancy: May be unsafe; limited human studies, animal studies show harmful effects; consult your doctor.
Pregnancy Category: C — always consult a doctor before taking during pregnancy.
Precautions & warnings
- May decrease alertness; do not drive
- Avoid alcohol as it may cause excessive drowsiness
- Do not stop suddenly after long-term use
- Consult doctor if pregnant, planning to conceive, or breastfeeding
Overdose effects
Symptoms: Drowsiness, weakness, dizziness.
Treatment: Supportive.
Storage conditions
Store in a cool and dry place; keep out of reach of children.
