Amino Acids 7% + Glucose & Electrolytes 10% is an IV infusion used as a source of amino acids, glucose, and electrolytes for parenteral nutrition.
Indications
Indicated as a source of amino acids, glucose, and electrolytes in adult and pediatric patients needing IV nutrition.
Pharmacology
Provides nitrogen sources, promotes protein synthesis and wound healing, and reduces endogenous protein catabolism.
Dosage
Adults: 0.10-0.25 g nitrogen/kg/day (11-27 ml/kg/day), 1000-2000 ml per 24 hours infused slowly. Infants and children: max 30 ml/kg body weight/day.
Side effects
Nausea, vomiting, flushing, sweating during rapid infusion, thrombophlebitis, and transient liver test increases.
Use in pregnancy
Reported safe during pregnancy; use as directed by physician.

Precautions & warnings
Use with caution in diabetes, severe heart failure, or renal impairment. Monitor phenylalanine in premature infants.
Overdose effects
May cause fluid overload or infusion-related symptoms; adjust rate or discontinue.

Store between 15°C to 25°C away from light and freezing. Keep out of reach of children.
