Human normal Immunoglobulin is used to strengthen the body's natural immune system to lower the risk of infection in persons with weakened immune system.

Indications
  • Immunoglobulins deficiency
  • Primary immunodeficiency
Dosage

Adult Dose (IV):

  • Severe bacterial/viral infections and A-/Hypogammaglobulinemia: 2500-5000 mg single dose IV infusion
  • ITP: 200-400 mg/kg daily for 5 days
  • Guillain-Barre Syndrome: 400 mg/kg daily for 5 days
  • Kawasaki Syndrome: 400 mg/kg daily for 5 days or 2000 mg daily IV infusion

Child Dose:

  • Neonates and infants: 5 ml (250 mg)/kg daily for 3 days
  • Severe infections and A-/Hypogammaglobulinemia: 50-150 mg/kg single dose
  • ITP: 200-400 mg/kg daily for 5 days
  • Guillain-Barre Syndrome: 400 mg/kg daily for 5 days
  • Kawasaki Syndrome: 400 mg/kg daily for 5 days
Side effects

Common Side Effects:

  • Back pain
  • Chills
  • Flushing (warmth in face, ears, neck and trunk)
  • Dizziness
  • Headache
  • Nausea
  • Decreased blood pressure
  • Muscle pain
  • Slow heart rate
  • Wheezing
Precautions & warnings

Precautions:

  • Human normal Immunoglobulin may affect your ability to drive
  • Side effects like dizziness or nausea may occur during treatment
  • Doctor will monitor you for some time after administration
  • Inform doctor if you have received any live vaccine (oral polio, MMR) in the last three months
  • Caution in patients with IgA antibodies
