Indications
- Bronchospasm in COPD patients (who continue to have evidence of bronchospasm on a regular aerosol bronchodilator)
Dosage
Adult Dose (Inhalation):
- Metered-dose inhaler: 100 mcg/20 mcg (1 actuation) every 6 hours; not to exceed 6 actuations/day
- Nebulizer solution: Initially, 3 mL every 6 hours; Max: 3 mL every 4 hours; 3-4 ampoules daily
- One ampoule as required or as directed

Side effects
Common Side Effects:
- Dryness in mouth
- Breathlessness
- Cough
- Tremor
- Headache
- Palpitations
- Muscle cramp
Uncommon: Angioedema, Urticaria, Bronchospasm, Hypotension, Nausea, Sinusitis, Pharyngitis, Influenza
Precautions & warnings
Precautions:
- For inhalation only; do not swallow tablets
- Do not use to relieve sudden breathing problems (use rescue inhaler)
- Take first dose under medical supervision (may cause bronchospasm)
- Gargle with warm water after each inhalation (to avoid fungal infections)
- Caution in narrow-angle glaucoma, prostatic hypertrophy or bladder-neck obstruction
- Hypokalemia may occur; monitor potassium levels
