Pharmacology
Halometasone is a topical corticosteroid with glucocorticoid activity. It exhibits anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects by inhibiting the release of various cytokines. Topical corticosteroids reduce skin inflammation, redness and itching by inhibiting production of inflammatory mediators.
Dosage
Adult Dose:
- 0.05% cream or ointment: Apply on affected areas
- Apply 2-3 times daily
- Do not use longer than 2 weeks
Side effects
Common Side Effects:
- Erythema (skin redness)
- Burning
- Itching

Precautions & warnings
Precautions:
- Don't use it more often or for longer than advised
- Don't cover the area with occlusive dressings (may increase risk of side effects)

- Consult doctor if no improvement after 2 weeks
- Inform doctor if mood changes or stomach problems occur
- Do not stop suddenly (may worsen symptoms)
Overdose effects
Overdose: Excessive use may cause skin irritation. Discontinue and consult doctor.
Storage conditions
Storage: Store below 30°C, away from light. Keep out of reach of children.
