Strontium Renalate is used for the treatment of osteoporosis. It reduces bone breakdown and stimulates bone rebuilding, making bones stronger and lowering the risk of fractures.
Indications
- Osteoporosis (postmenopausal women and men)
Dosage
Adult Dose (Oral):
- Recommended: 2 g (1 sachet) once daily
- Take with food (at the evening meal or at bedtime)
- Mix the powder in a glass of water or milk and drink immediately
Side effects
Common Side Effects:
- Nausea, vomiting
- Abdominal pain, constipation
- Indigestion
- Muscle pain, joint pain
- Muscle cramps
- Sleep disorders
Precautions & warnings
- Do not use in severe renal impairment (CrCl <30 mL/min)
- Risk of venous thromboembolism (caution if any risk factors)
- Do not use in pregnancy and lactation
- Does not usually affect driving ability
