Latanoprost 0.005% + Timolol 0.5% Eye Prep is used for glaucoma and ocular hypertension. It decreases aqueous humor production and increases outflow to reduce eye pressure.

Indications
  • Open-angle glaucoma
  • Ocular hypertension
Pharmacology

Latanoprost reduces IOP by increasing uveoscleral outflow of aqueous humor. Timolol reduces IOP by blocking beta receptors and decreasing aqueous humor production.

Dosage

Adult Dose:

  • 1 drop in the affected eye(s) once daily in the evening
Side effects

Common Side Effects:

  • Eye pain
  • Foreign body sensation
  • Stinging sensation
  • Itching
  • Irritation
  • Iris color change
  • Increased eyelash length, thickness, and number
  • Conjunctival hyperemia
Use in pregnancy

Use in Pregnancy: May be unsafe during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown harmful effects on the fetus. Consult your doctor.

Precautions & warnings
  • Avoid driving or activities requiring concentration (may cause dizziness or drowsiness)
  • Monitor blood sugar in diabetic patients (may mask hypoglycemia symptoms)
  • Do not use with contact lenses (contains benzalkonium chloride)
  • Consult your doctor during pregnancy and lactation
