Antazoline + Tetryzoline is an ophthalmic solution used for the temporary relief of signs and symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis including conjunctival hyperaemia, chemosis, and itching.
Indications
- Allergic conjunctivitis
- Conjunctival hyperaemia (redness)
- Chemosis (swelling)
- Ocular itching
Dosage
Adults & Adolescents: 1 drop 2-3 times daily up to 14 days.
Children (above 2 years): No specific studies available. For possible systemic effects, dosage should not exceed 1-2 drops per day.
Children (below 2 years): Not to be used in children below 2 years of age.
Important: Should not be used for longer than 14 days as this may cause rebound hyperemia and toxic follicular conjunctivitis.
Side effects
Mild and transient burning or stinging upon instillation is the most common side effect.
Precautions & warnings
Precautions:
- Use with caution in elderly patients with severe cardiovascular disease (including arrhythmia), poorly controlled hypertension or diabetes
- Do not use for longer than 14 days (risk of rebound hyperemia and toxic follicular conjunctivitis)
- Consult doctor before use if wearing contact lenses
- Keep dropper tip clean
