Description
Dequalinium chloride, the active ingredient of this tablet, belongs to the family of anti-infective and antiseptic drugs. Dequalinium chloride is active against the bacteria which cause bacterial vaginosis. It is inserted into the vagina for the treatment of the site of infection.

Pharmacology
Dequalinium chloride belongs to the family of anti-infective and antiseptic drugs. Dequalinium chloride is active against the bacteria which cause bacterial vaginosis.
Mechanism of action
Dequalinium chloride destroys the cell wall and membrane of bacteria causing bacterial vaginosis, thereby eliminating the infection.
Dosage
Adult: 1 vaginal tablet daily for 6 days.
Administration
Use every evening before bed. Wash hands before opening the blister pack. Lie down in a reclining position with legs slightly bent. Insert one vaginal tablet deeply into the vagina. Stop treatment during heavy bleeding of menstruation and resume afterwards.
Missed dose
If you miss a dose, use it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double the dose. Treatment of less than 6 days may result in symptoms returning.
Side effects
Common: Vaginal discharge, vaginal itching or burning, vaginal yeast infection, thrush.
Other: Vaginal bleeding, vaginal pain, inflammation of vagina, headache, nausea.
Precautions & warnings
Intravaginal use of soaps, spermicides, and vaginal douches is not recommended during treatment. Unprotected sexual intercourse is prohibited during treatment. Should not be used within 12 hours before birth.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity; Ulceration of the vaginal epithelium; Those who have not yet had their first menstruation (have not reached sexual maturity).
