Description

L-Lysine hydrochloride is an essential amino acid that is soluble in water. It promotes wound healing through active and controlled regeneration of cells and protects wounds against common organisms. Lysine plays an important role in collagen formation, which is important for bones and connective tissues including skin, tendon, and cartilage. It is important for proper growth and plays an essential role in carnitine production, which converts fatty acids into energy and helps lower cholesterol. Lysine inhibits replication of arginine-rich herpes viruses.

Pharmacology

Lysine is an essential amino acid that promotes wound healing through cell regeneration. It plays an important role in collagen formation and inhibits replication of arginine-rich herpes viruses.

Mechanism of action

Promotes wound healing through active and controlled regeneration of cells and aids in collagen formation.

Dosage

Adult Dose (Topical):

  • Use as often as required, preferably at intervals of 24, 48, or 72 hours
  • Apply gel liberally after cleaning the wound area
Administration
  • For external use only
  • Clean the affected area with normal saline and/or surgically if necessary
  • Apply gel liberally on the cleaned wound bed
  • May be covered with a moist dressing and/or bandage
Missed dose
