Calcium (Algae Source) is a calcium supplement derived from ocean-based algae (Algas Calcareas) used for osteogenesis, osteomalacia, hypoparathyroidism, rickets, brain development, pregnancy and lactation, and as a phosphate binder in chronic renal failure. It ensures better absorption than other calcium sources due to its fibrous chemical structure.

Dosage
Adults: 1-2 chewable tablets once or twice daily, or as directed by the physician.
Note: Dosage is determined by the physician based on the patient's clinical condition.
Side effects
- Rare: Flatulence, diarrhea
- Prolonged use (rare): Hypercalcemia
Precautions & warnings
- In mild hypercalciuria, reduce the dose to maintain normal serum calcium concentration.
- Patients with kidney stone (or history of it) should be advised to increase fluid intake.
- Avoid use in increased activity of parathyroid gland, hypercalcemia, kidney stone, and extreme loss of body water.
