Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium + Glycerine Eye Prep is an ocular lubricant or artificial tear used to relieve dry eyes, irritation, and burning. It lubricates the ocular surface similarly to natural tears and helps retain moisture.
Indications
- Symptoms due to dryness of the eye (Dry eyes)
Dosage
Adults and children: Instill 1 drop in the affected eye(s) as needed, or as directed by a physician.
Note: Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute after instillation (to reduce systemic absorption). Use within 1 month of opening.
Side effects
Common side effects: Temporary blurred vision upon first use, stinging sensation in the eye.
Rare: Minor and temporary burning.
Consult a doctor if irritation, eye pain, or visual changes worsen or persist beyond 72 hours.
Precautions & warnings
- For external use only.
- Do not touch the dropper tip to any surface (to avoid contamination).
- If using soft contact lenses, remove them before applying drops and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting.
