Clioquin Cream

• Infected Inflammatory Skin Conditions: Used for inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, or psoriasis that are infected or likely to become infected.

Fluocinolone is a topical corticosteroid. Corticosteroids are medicines used for reducing inflammation. When fluocinolone is applied to the skin it works by acting inside the cells to decrease the release of inflammatory substances, reducing swelling, redness and itch. Clioquinol has antifungal and antibacterial actions by preventing the growth and multiplication of organisms.

Adult Dose (Topical):

• Apply thinly and evenly to the affected area(s).
• May be applied 2-3 times daily.

Side Effects:

• Skin irritation at application site (burning, itching, redness)
• Allergic contact dermatitis
• Thinning of the skin
• Changes in skin pigmentation
• Stretch marks (striae)
• Telangiectasia

Use in Pregnancy: Should not be used during pregnancy unless considered essential; do not use on large areas, under airtight dressings, or for prolonged periods.

Precautions:

• Do not use if allergic to iodine.
• Do not use in primary bacterial, fungal or viral skin infections.
• Do not use in acne, rosacea, perioral dermatitis, anogenital pruritus, napkin rash.
• Caution in pregnancy and lactation (do not use on large areas, under airtight dressings, or for prolonged periods).
• Do not use in children under one year of age.
• Do not use in widespread plaque psoriasis.

Overdose: Limited information on topical overdose; excessive use may cause skin irritation.

Storage: Keep below 30 degree C, away from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
