At a glance

Cyclopentolate Hydrochloride 1% Eye prep is an anticholinergic agent used to produce mydriasis and cycloplegia for diagnostic purposes and for the treatment of uveitis.

Indications
  • Eye examination (mydriasis and cycloplegia)

Pharmacology

Cyclopentolate is an anticholinergic agent that induces relaxation of the sphincter of the iris and the ciliary muscles. The cycloplegic and mydriatic effects are slower in onset and longer in duration in patients who have dark pigmented irises.
