Dosage
Adult Dose (IV):
- Kaposi's Sarcoma: 20 mg/m² q3Weeks
- Ovarian Cancer: 50 mg/m² q4Weeks
- Multiple Myeloma: 30 mg/m² (with bortezomib)
- Metastatic breast cancer: 60-75 mg/m² q3Weeks
Hepatic Dose: Bilirubin 1.2-3 mg/dL: 50% dose; 3.1-5 mg/dL: 25% dose; Severe impairment: Contraindicated.
Side effects
Common Side Effects (>10%):
- Alopecia
- Nausea and vomiting
Other Side Effects:
- Cardiomyopathy and arrhythmias
- Secondary malignancies
- Extravasation and tissue necrosis
- Severe myelosuppression
- Tumor lysis syndrome
Precautions & warnings
- Can cause fetal harm during pregnancy.
- Discontinue if signs of cardiomyopathy develop.
- Dose reduction needed in hepatic impairment.
