Mupirocin Calcium nasal prep is an antibiotic nasal ointment used for eradication of nasal colonization with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).

Indications
  • Eradication of nasal colonization with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA)
Dosage

Adult Dose (Nasal):

  • 2% nasal ointment: Apply into each nostril 2-3 times daily for max 5 days
  • After application, press sides of nose together and gently massage for approx 1 min

Pediatric Dose (Nasal):

  • >12 years: Apply into each nostril 2-3 times daily for max 5 days
Side effects

Common Side Effects:

  • Application site burning
  • Application site redness
  • Application site itching
  • Application site irritation
Precautions & warnings
  • Do not use for more than 5 days
  • Avoid contact with eyes
