Pharmacology
Molnupiravir is a prodrug that is converted to N-hydroxycytidine. It introduces copying errors during viral RNA replication causing lethal mutations and stopping viral replication.
Dosage
Adult Dose (Oral):
- Recommended Dose: 200 mg capsules (4 capsules) every 12 hours (total 800 mg/dose)
- Treatment Duration: 5 days
- Total Dose: 40 capsules (5 days × 8 capsules/day)
Child Dose: <18 years: Safety and efficacy not established.

Use in pregnancy
Use in Pregnancy: Unsafe. Not recommended during pregnancy. Use effective contraception during treatment and for 4 days after last dose.
