Description
Provides essential amino acids and ketoanalogues to improve protein metabolism and renal function while minimizing amino-nitrogen intake.
Indications
Indicated for prevention & treatment of damages due to faulty or deficient protein metabolism in chronic kidney disease with a limited dietary protein intake (40 g/day or less).

Pharmacological class
Essential amino acids and ketoanalogues
Pharmacology
Reuses amino groups to form essential amino acids, decreasing urea formation and reducing uremic toxin accumulation.
Mechanism of action
Transamination of keto-analogues using non-essential nitrogen to synthesize essential amino acids.
Dosage
Adults: 4-8 tablets 3 times a day during meals. Swallow whole without chewing. Used when GFR is less than 25 mL/min.
Administration
Oral administration during meals, swallow whole.
Missed dose
Take as soon as remembered.
Side effects
Hypercalcemia (Very Rare).
Precautions & warnings
Monitor serum calcium and phosphate levels regularly, ensure sufficient calorie intake, caution in phenylketonuria.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity, hypercalcemia, and disturbed amino acid metabolism.
Drug interactions
Avoid simultaneous administration with calcium-binding drugs (tetracyclines, quinolones, iron, fluoride); maintain 2-hour gap.
Food interactions
Taken during meals to facilitate proper absorption.
