Indications
- Allergic conjunctivitis
- Ocular inflammation
- Miosis
- Post-cataract surgery inflammation
- Corneal refractive surgery pain and inflammation
Dosage
Cataract Surgery: 1 drop in affected eye(s) four times daily for 2 weeks, beginning 24 hours post-surgery.
Corneal Refractive Surgery: 1-2 drops within 1 hour pre-op & 15 minutes post-op; continue 1-2 drops four times daily for 3 days.
Inflammatory conditions: 1 drop 4-5 times daily depending upon severity.
Side effects
Common: Mild ocular stinging, irritation, may slow corneal wound healing, lacrimation, increased IOP, keratitis.
Other: Dizziness, insomnia, pain, fever, chills, nausea/vomiting, abdominal pain, corneal deposits, corneal edema, corneal perforation, corneal thinning.
Precautions & warnings
Diclofenac eye drops may mask signs of infection; be alert to development of infections. During prolonged use, conduct periodic eye examinations including IOP measurement. Contact lenses should not be worn during treatment.
