Pharmacology
Undenatured Type II collagen is a nutritional supplement derived from chicken sternum cartilage using a patented low-temperature, non-enzymatic manufacturing process that preserves the natural triple helix molecular configuration and biological activity. It contains active binding sites called epitopes which trigger oral tolerization. Glucosamine sulfate is a normal constituent of glycosaminoglycans in cartilage matrix and synovial fluid. Boswellia serrata inhibits 5-LOX enzyme and leukotriene B4 to reduce inflammation. Boron (Calcium fructoborate) is a patented complex that reduces C-reactive protein and supports bone health.
Dosage
Adults: 1 tablet orally twice daily after meals or as directed by the physician.
Children & adolescents below 12 years: Safety and effectiveness have not been established.

- Uncommon: Drowsiness, skin reactions, headache
Glucosamine sulfate seems to be safe for most people. Some glucosamine products may not contain the labeled amount or may contain excessive amounts of Manganese.
Use in pregnancy
Not recommended during pregnancy (insufficient research available).
Precautions & warnings
- Diabetic patients should monitor blood glucose levels regularly (glucosamine may increase insulin resistance).
- Patients allergic to shellfish should consult their physician before use (glucosamine is extracted from chitin, a carbohydrate; shellfish allergies are usually caused by protein).
- Use under medical supervision in patients with severe renal or hepatic insufficiency.
- Not recommended during pregnancy and lactation.
Overdose effects
Signs and symptoms of overdose include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, and abdominal discomfort. Consult your doctor if overdose is suspected.
