Calcium Carbonate + Calcium Lactate Gluconate + Vitamin-C + Vitamin D3 is an effervescent tablet used to prevent and treat calcium, vitamin C and vitamin D deficiency, osteoporosis, rickets, hypocalcemia and osteomalacia.

Indications

Adjunct to specific therapy for osteoporosis, calcium, vitamin C and vitamin D deficiency, rickets, hypocalcemia, osteomalacia, increased demand for calcium and vitamins during pregnancy and lactation, periods of rapid growth (childhood, adolescence), old age, postmenopausal syndromes, premenstrual symptoms, adjuvant in cold and influenza, high body temperatures, alkalizing agent in systemic acidosis.

Dosage

Adults and adolescents: 1 effervescent tablet daily. Children: 1/2 effervescent tablet daily. Or as directed by the physician.

Side effects

Common side effects: Anorexia, constipation, flatulence, nausea, vomiting, xerostomia, acid rebound, diarrhea, headache, muscle/bone pain, metallic taste. Rare side effects: Hypercalcemia, hypophosphatemia, milk-alkali syndrome, hypotension, arrhythmias.

Precautions & warnings

Patients with mild to moderate renal failure or mild hypercalciuria should have periodic checks of plasma calcium and urinary calcium excretion. In patients with history of renal stones, urinary calcium excretion should be measured. Monitor serum and urinary calcium and kidney function during long-term treatment. Allowances should be made for calcium and vitamin D supplements from other sources.
