Povidone Iodine 7.5% Scrub is an antiseptic and disinfectant agent. Used as a mouthwash to kill germs that cause sore throat. It also relieves dryness or irritation of the mouth and throat. Take Povidone Iodine 7.5% Scrub in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Make sure not to swallow the medication. Do not stop using it until you have finished the complete course, even when you feel better. You must have to avoid eating, drinking, or smoking for at least 30 minutes after using it. Do not use it for longer than your doctor has told you to and let him or her know if your condition does not improve after 2 to 4 weeks of treatment. Pour gargle and mouthwash into the cup and dilute it with an equal amount of warm water if the taste is an issue. Swish solution for a short time in the mouth and spit it out. Povidone-iodine is an iodophore with a powerful broad-spectrum germicidal activity against a wide range of bacteria, viruses, fungi, protozoa and spores. Microbicidal; oxidizes cell constituents; iodinates proteins and inactivates them.

Adult Dose: Pre-operative scrubbing & washing: Wet hands with water, then pour 5 ml of solution onto the palm and spread over both the hands, rub the scrub over the entire area for about 2 mintues, add water to develope copious suds, rinse throughly under running water. Pre- and post-operative skin cleansing: After the skin is shaved and wet with water, apply surgical scrub & rub throughly for minimum 2 mintues, rinse of with the sterile gauze saturated with water.

Check the label before use. Take the mouthwash in the quantity as advised by your doctor and put it in your mouth. Swish for 30 seconds to 1 minute and spit it. Do not swallow. Avoid eating, drinking, or smoking for at least 30 minutes after rinsing.

If you miss a dose of Povidone Iodine 7.5% Scrub, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.

Hypersensitivity; prolonged use in patients with thyroid disorders or on lithium therapy. Special caution is needed when regular applications to broken skin are made to patients with pre-existing renal insufficiency. Regular use should be avoided in patients on concurrent lithium therapy.
