Phenylephrine Hydrochloride 5% + Tropicamide 0.8% Eye Prep is used for eye examination for detection of eye diseases. It acts by enlarging the pupil of the eyes and relaxing eye muscles, helping the doctor visualize the eye more closely.

Pharmacology
Phenylephrine is a decongestant that constricts blood vessels and causes pupillary dilation. Tropicamide is an anticholinergic that relaxes eye muscles (cycloplegia) and dilates the pupil (mydriasis). This combination allows proper examination of the inside of the eye.
Dosage
Adult Dose (Ophthalmic):
- Eye examination: Instill 1-2 drops into the affected eye(s)
- Applied by a doctor
