Prof. Dr. Mashhud Zia Chowdhury

Prof. Dr. Mashhud Zia Chowdhury graduated from Chittagong Medical College in 1987. After completing his internship, he joined BIRDEM General Hospital in 1989 and initially worked in the Department of Medicine and later in the newly formed Cardiology Department in the hospital. Dr. Chowdhury completed his Diploma in Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases (DTCD) from NIDCH and his MD in Cardiology from NICVD. From the inception of Ibrahim Medical College, he was actively involved in teaching medical students as an Assistant Professor of Cardiology. After working in BIRDEM General Hospital for 19 Years, Mashhud Zia Chowdhury joined Ibrahim Cardiac Hospital & Research Institute in 2007 as a Clinical and Interventional Cardiologist. He received Training in complex interventional procedures, IVUS & ROTA from Japan and Germany and has published and presented at many national and International platforms. For the past several years, Dr. Mashhud Zia Chowdhury has been working as a Professor and Senior Consultant in the Department of Cardiology as well as the course Coordinator of MD Cardiology residency program at Ibrahim Cardiac Hospital & Research Institute (ICHRI), with over 25 years of experience in Cardiology. Dr. Chowdhury is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
