Pharmacology

Hypromellose and Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium are polymers in nature. It is a clear and colorless aqueous solution. This medication lubricates the surface of the eye similarly to natural tears. Hypromellose stabilizes and thickens the precorneal tear film and prolongs tear film breakup time, promoting corneal wetting and providing lubrication and protection to the eye.

Mechanism of action

Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium and Hypromellose form a lubricating film on the ocular surface that mimics natural tears, stabilizes the tear film, and protects the cornea.

Dosage

Adults: Instill 1-2 drops in the affected eye(s) as needed.

Children: Safety and efficacy have not been established.

Note: Consult your doctor if symptoms persist for more than 3 days or worsen.

Administration

For ophthalmic use only. Do not touch the dropper tip to any surface or your eye (to avoid contamination). Hold the dropper close to the eye without touching it and place the drop inside the lower eyelid.

Missed dose

If you miss a dose, apply it as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next dose. Do not double the dose.
