At a glance

Naftidrofuryl Oxalate is used to improve peripheral circulation in peripheral vascular disorders. It works through 5HT2-blocking activity and spasmolytic effects to dilate blood vessels and prevent platelet aggregation.

Description

Naftidrofuryl oxalate possesses 5HT2-blocking activity and counteracts both the vasoconstrictor effect and the effect promoting platelet aggregation due to serotonin. It has a direct effect on intracellular metabolism, increases ATP level, decreases lactic acid level in ischemic conditions and enhances cellular oxidative capacity. It is also a powerful spasmolytic agent.
