Description
Pramoxine Hydrochloride blocks Na+ ion channels in neuronal cell membranes, preventing pain transmission and effecting local anesthetic action. Calamine causes a cooling sensation and provides anti-itching action.

Pharmacology
Pramoxine Hydrochloride blocks Na+ ion channels in neuronal cell membranes, preventing pain transmission. Calamine is a protectant and astringent that causes a cooling sensation and provides anti-itching action.
Mechanism of action
Relieves pain and itching by blocking nerve impulse conduction.
Dosage
Adult Dose (Topical):
- Apply to affected area every 6-8 hours as needed
- Not more than 3-4 times daily
Pediatric Dose (>2 years):
- Same as adult
- Under 2 years: Safety and efficacy not established
Administration
- For external use only
- Do not use in the eyes
- Do not use on blistered or broken skin
- Do not bandage tightly over the affected area
Missed dose
If you miss a dose, apply it as soon as you remember; skip if it's almost time for next application; do not double the dose.
Side effects

- Anaphylactoid reactions
- Burning, stinging, tingling
- Urticaria, skin peeling, skin lesions

- Discontinue if condition worsens or if symptoms do not improve within 7 days
