Pramoxine + Calamine topical is used for temporary relief of itching, pain, and discomfort of ivy, oak, sumac poisoning, and minor burns, sunburns, minor cuts, scrapes, insect bites, and minor skin irritations and rashes.
Indications

Pharmacology
Pramoxine Hydrochloride blocks Na+ ion channels in neuronal cell membranes, preventing pain transmission. Calamine is a protectant and astringent that causes a cooling sensation and provides anti-itching action.
Dosage
Adult Dose (Topical):
- Apply to affected area every 6-8 hours as needed
- Not more than 3-4 times daily
Pediatric Dose (>2 years):
- Same as adult
- Under 2 years: Safety and efficacy not established
Side effects

- Local skin reactions (irritation, pruritus, dermatitis)
- Anaphylactoid reactions
- Burning, stinging, tingling
- Urticaria, skin peeling, skin lesions

Precautions & warnings
- For external use only
- Avoid contact with eyes, nose, ears, and mouth
