Benzocaine is a local anaesthetic which acts by preventing the generation and transmission of impulses along nerve fibers and at nerve endings. Depolarisation and ion-exchange are inhibited. Adult Dose: Opthalmic: 1-2 drops 2-4 times daily.

Local sensitivity. Lid itching, swelling, conjunctival erythema.

Known hypersensitivity to any of the components.
