About Kurigram General Hospital

Kurigram General Hospital is the main government healthcare facility in Kurigram District, Rangpur Division, Bangladesh. The hospital started its journey in 1968 as a 50-bed facility, was upgraded to 100 beds, and finally became a 250-bed general hospital in 2017.

The hospital serves as the primary healthcare center for nearly 2 million people in the Kurigram district. It provides emergency services, outdoor (OPD) and indoor patient care.

Important Note: According to recent reports, the hospital is facing a severe shortage of doctors. Only 20-23 doctors are currently working against 371 approved posts. There are no senior consultants in Medicine, Surgery, Gynecology, and Cardiology departments. The ENT department is completely closed due to lack of doctors.
