Oxaprozin is an NSAID used for osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, gout and other painful conditions. It inhibits cyclooxygenase enzyme to block prostaglandin synthesis, relieving pain and inflammation.

Dosage
Adult Dose (Oral):
- Osteoarthritis (mild-moderate): 600 mg/day
- Osteoarthritis (moderate-severe): 1200 mg/day
- Rheumatoid arthritis: 1200 mg/day
- Maximum: 1800 mg/day or 26 mg/kg/day (whichever is lower)
Pediatric Dose (JRA):
- 22-31 kg: 600 mg/day
- 32-54 kg: 900 mg/day
- >55 kg: 1200 mg/day
Side effects
Common Side Effects:
- Vomiting
- Nausea
- Dyspepsia
- Abdominal pain
Precautions & warnings
- Risk of stomach ulcers and bleeding
- Risk of kidney problems with long-term use
- Caution in history of heart disease or stroke
- Avoid alcohol
- Caution while driving
- Separate antacids by 2 hours
