Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Farid Hossain is an MBBS and MS (General Surgery) qualified Laparoscopic and General Surgeon currently serving as Senior Consultant, Department of General and Laparoscopic Surgery at Evercare Hospital Dhaka. He obtained his MBBS from Karnataka, India, and his MS in General Surgery from the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, India, one of the subcontinent's most prestigious medical institutes. He underwent extensive training in General, Laparoscopic, and Complex Digestive Tract Surgery across reputed medical institutions in India for approximately 14 years. Before joining Apollo Hospitals Dhaka, he served as Associate Professor and Incharge of the Department of Emergency and Trauma at Khwaja Yunus Ali Medical College and Hospital, Sirajganj. He has pioneered numerous procedures at Evercare Hospital Dhaka including daycare gallbladder excision surgery, laparoscopic colorectal cancer and non-cancer surgery, latest breast cancer surgery using a gamma probe, the STARR procedure, removal of liver stones with flexible scopes, Khar Suta for complex fistula-in-ano, and pelvic exenteration including cytoreductive surgery. His areas of expertise include Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery, Abdominal Cancer Surgery, Breast Cancer Surgery, Hepatobiliary Surgery, Bariatric Surgery, and Robotic Surgery.
