• Prof. Dr. Abdul Mannan has obtained his MBBS in 1980, subsequently done ECMFG from USMLE in 1996 and MRCP from UK in 2004.
• Prof. Dr. Abdul Mannan has additional qualification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ACLS), Fundamental Critical Care Support (FCCS). He got all these qualification from King Fahad Specialist Hospital, KSA.
• Prof. Dr. Abdul Mannan is a veteran physician and has worked in various capacities in different hospitals in home & abroad.
• After finishing his MBBS he started working as House Physician in Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, Bangladesh from March 1981 – April 1982.
• Medical Officer in Thana Health Complex (rural area), under Ministry of Health in Bangladesh from April 1984 – November 1984; General Practitioner in Hospital Afshar, Dezful, Iran under Ministry of Health of Iran from December 1984 – August 1995; Honorary SHO, Post graduate Hospital, Dhaka from October 1996 – July 1999; Resident in Medicine in King Fahad Specialist Hospital (KFSH), Buraidah, Al Gassim, KSA from August 1999 – January 2003, promoted to Registrar in Medicine and worked from February 2003 – October 2004.
• He got promoted again to Acting Consultant in Medicine (subspecialty-Gastroenterology) in KFSH promotion committee after completing the MRCP degree.
• He came back to Bangladesh in 2005 and joined in Dhaka National Medical College Hospital as Assistant Professor where he worked for three and half year. After evaluating his skill and publications in different medical magazines, he got promoted to Associate Professor of Medicine in the same Medical College Hospital.
• Prof. Dr. Abdul Mannan started his private practise in BRB Hospital, Green Life Hospital and Central Hospital respectively and visited all type of patients having medical problems. He frequently attends different national and international seminar on diabetics.
• Now Prof. Dr. Abdul Mannan is working at Asgar Ali Hospital as Senior Consultant – Internal Medicine.
