Prof. Dr. Md. Zafrul Hassan

Prof. Dr. Md. Zafrul Hassan is a skilled and energetic consultant surgeon. Dr. Zafrul passed MBBS from Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College on January 1998. After medical graduation, he went to Saudi Arabia to gather more experience. He joined as a medical officer under MOH, KSA from 2003 to 2007. After coming back he was trained in ophthalmology at Ispahani Islamia Eye Institute and Hospital & National Institute of Ophthalmology & Hospital (NIOH). He completed FCPS in ophthalmology, in 2012 from the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS). He obtained a double fellowship in Glaucoma from Aravind eye hospital, India & Fellowship in Cornea from Ispahani Islamia Eye Institute and Hospital, Dhaka. Prior to joining Bangladesh Eye Hospital, he worked in Ispahani Islamia Eye Institute and Hospital from 2010 to 2018 where he mainly specialized in cornea, cataract & Glaucoma. He was a consultant in the cornea department & also head of the dept. in glaucoma from 2013 to 2018 at Ispahani Islamia Eye Institute and Hospital. He has been successfully performing phaco & glaucoma surgery regularly for the last 10 years. He has also been performing laser surgery in relation to cataracts & glaucoma. He has many national & international journals & attended many national & International conferences.

At present, Dr. Zafrul is working as a professor in Lions Eye Institute & Hospital & takes the responsibility for Cornea, Cataract & Glaucoma Department. He performed Charitable work by doing free cataract, glaucoma & cornea surgery for poor people.
