Prof. (Dr) M. Hafizur Rahman

Renowned Glaucoma Specialist & Consultant Phaco surgeon, currently working as Consultant at Bangladesh Eye Hospital and Institute and Hikmah Eye Hospital. He is the former Head of Ophthalmology Department at Ad-din Medical College Hospital, Dhaka.

Prof. Rahman is one of the leading Glaucoma consultant and Phaco Surgeon in Bangladesh. He is working to prevent blindness due to cataract and glaucoma from this country. He is used to utilize the latest techniques and equipment to ensure the highest standards of eye care. He is practicing on Cataract & Phaco surgery for more than 19 years and on Glaucoma for more than 17 years. He is the pioneer of many techniques in glaucoma and cataract surgeries.

After completing Fellowship (FCPS), Dr M Hafizur Rahman joined glaucoma department of Islamia Eye Hospital in February 2005 as Senior Medical Officer, then promoted to Registrar in 2006. In 2008 He promoted to Assistant Professor and worked as Head of Glaucoma Services. After resigning from Islamia he joined Ad-din Medical College Hospital, Moghbazar, Dhaka in May 2012, as Associate Professor and Head of Eye Department. After 6 years He promoted to Professor of ophthalmology in May, 2018. After two years of serving as Professor and Head, He resigned and joined Bangladesh Eye Hospital and Institute, Dhaka.

Interested in research, Prof. Hafizur Rahman is the author or co-author of over 25 medical and scientific papers. Presently he is the Assistant Editor of JBGS (Journal of Bangladesh Glaucoma Society). He presented papers in SAARC and World Glaucoma Conferences in Finland & Hong Kong. He conducted many instruction courses, delivered invited lectures and attended a lot of seminars and symposiums in multiple conferences organized by OSB, BAO, BGS, Multiple pharmaceutical companies & NGOs like SSI, ORBIS etc. He is specially interested for
