Fluorometholone 0.1% + Tetrahydrozoline Hydrochloride 0.025% Eye prep is used for allergic and inflammatory conditions of the eye.
Indications
- Keratitis, Iridocyclitis, Iritis: Used for inflammatory conditions of the eye.
- Acute and Chronic Conjunctivitis: Used for allergic non-infectious conjunctivitis and keratitis.
- Post-operative Conditions: Used for irritative conditions after strabotomy, cataract and glaucoma surgery.
Dosage
Adult Dose (Ophthalmic):
- Instill 1 drop into the conjunctival sac 2-3 times daily.
- Dose may be increased to 1 drop hourly for first one to two days in severe cases.
Child Dose: Safety and effectiveness in children below 2 years have not been established.
Side effects
Side Effects:
- Mild burning sensation
- Reversible increase in intraocular pressure
- Reactive hyperemia/rebound effect
- Cataract and corneal defects
- Glaucoma
- Systemic effects (chronic use)
Precautions & warnings
Precautions:
- Prolonged use in pregnant women and infants should be avoided.
- Use with caution in patients under treatment with MAO inhibitors.
- Do not apply while wearing soft contact lenses; remove lenses before application and do not reinsert earlier than 15 minutes after use.
- Avoid prolonged use.
