Calcium Dobesilate is a prescription medicine used to treat piles and varicose veins. This medicine decreases leakage and fragility of small vessels and improves blood flow. Calcium Dobesilate is taken after meals in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your doctor know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine. The most common side effects of Calcium Dobesilate is allergic reaction such as skin rash, fever, nausea, and vomiting. These are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about allergic reactions. Lifestyle modifications like reducing smoking, increasing exercise and a healthy diet will help you to get better results. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult their doctor before taking this medicine. Before taking this medicine, you should let your doctor know if you have liver and kidney problems. Calcium Dobesilate works on the walls of the small vessel and decreases their leakage and fragility. It also improves blood flow by decreasing viscosity/thickness of blood.

Calcium dobesilate acts selectively on the capillary walls regulating their physiological functions of resistance and permeability. It lowers blood viscosity and restores normal blood flow. This action is beneficial in all cases of capillary fragility due to metabolic disturbances (constitutional or acquired), and surgical stress or induced by certain medicines.

Adult Dose: Oral Peripheral circulatory disorders Adult: 0.5-1 g daily in divided doses.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Do not chew, crush or break it. Calcium Dobesilate is to be taken with food.

If you miss a dose of Calcium Dobesilate, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.
