Dr. Md. Ali Akbar

Dr. Md. Ali Akbar passed MBBS from Dhaka Medical College in 1980 and obtained Diploma in Ophthalmology from University of Dhaka. He completed MCPS and FCPS both from Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons. Prior to joining Bangladesh Eye Hospital, he worked in Islamia Eye Hospital from 1981 to 2004 where he mainly specialized in cataract surgery and glaucoma. He has been successfully performing Phaco & Glaucoma Surgery regularly for the last 15 years. He has also been performing Laser surgery in relation to cataract and glaucoma. He attended many international conferences home and abroad.

He has worked under close supervision of Late Prof. Mustafizur Rahman for 20 years. He was given the “Best Doctor Award” in 1988 during his tenure at Islamia Eye Hospital.
